Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit mbtcareers.com, browse opportunities with Midea Building Technologies (MBT), or submit a job application. It covers this recruitment website, including its www and non-www addresses.

The company responsible for this recruitment activity and its privacy contact are identified in the Contact us section below. Other Midea websites, employment services and third-party websites may have separate privacy notices.

2. Information we collect

  • Application details: your name, mobile number, email address, chosen position and the resume you upload. These fields are required to submit an application through this website.
  • Optional information: expected salary, earliest available start date, a description of your strengths, and supporting documents such as a portfolio or certificates. You choose whether to provide these.
  • Application records: submission time, the position and location you applied for, application status and notes added by recruitment staff. Uploaded files also have a filename, file type and size.
  • Technical information: browser information and a protected identifier derived from your IP address for submission abuse prevention. Website infrastructure may also process IP addresses, request times and requested URLs in operational logs.
  • Advertising information: LinkedIn may collect information about visits and interactions through its Insight Tag, as described below.

Please limit your application to information relevant to the position. Do not include identity document numbers, bank details, medical records or other sensitive information unless the recruitment team specifically requests it through an appropriate channel. Obtain permission before providing another person's private contact details, such as a reference.

3. How we use information

Your application information is used to:

  • Receive, organise and review your application for a position.
  • Assess your qualifications and communicate about the recruitment process.
  • Maintain recruitment records and manage the progress of applications.
  • Protect the service against spam, misuse and unauthorised access.
  • Respond to privacy requests and meet applicable legal obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, this may include steps you request before entering an employment contract, legitimate interests in managing recruitment and securing the website, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. The basis depends on the purpose and the law applicable to the recruitment activity.

This website supports review by recruitment staff. It does not automatically make hiring or rejection decisions based on your application.

4. Who receives information

Applications are available to authorised recruitment staff and hiring teams involved in the relevant opportunity. They may share application details and documents with the relevant team through the recruitment dashboard or email.

Hosting, IT support and email providers may process information as needed to operate these services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. LinkedIn receives information through its advertising technology as described in section 6.

5. Storage and retention

Application details are stored in the recruitment database. Resumes and supporting documents are stored in a private file area and accessed through authenticated administrator functions. Copies forwarded for recruitment may also be held in the relevant email systems.

Retention depends on the recruitment process, necessary follow-up, applicable record-keeping requirements and the need to deal with legal claims. Contact the privacy team to ask about the period applicable to your application or to request deletion. Deleting a job listing does not itself delete applications already received for that position.

International recruitment can involve access by hiring teams and service providers outside your country. Applicable transfer requirements and safeguards depend on the entities and locations involved. The privacy team can provide information about where your application is processed and any applicable safeguards.

6. Cookies and LinkedIn advertising

Public recruitment pages use the LinkedIn Insight Tag for advertising measurement, conversion reporting, audience insights and remarketing. This includes the homepage, job listings, job details, application pages and the submission confirmation page. The tag is not included on administrator pages or this privacy policy page.

LinkedIn may use cookies and similar identifiers to process information such as the page URL, referring page, IP address, browser characteristics, visit time and website interactions. LinkedIn may associate this activity with a LinkedIn account and provides advertisers with reporting about campaign performance and audiences. The recruitment form stores uploaded documents in the recruitment system; it does not attach those documents to Insight Tag requests.

Read the LinkedIn Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for LinkedIn's processing, international transfers and retention. You can manage advertising preferences through LinkedIn settings and control cookies through your browser. These settings affect advertising tracking; they do not withdraw an application already submitted.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to or a copy of your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or data portability. You may also have the right to object to certain uses, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to the relevant data protection authority.

To withdraw an application or make a privacy request, use the contact below and identify the position and email address used in your application. We may need information to verify your identity before acting on a request. Please do not send an identity document unless requested through an appropriate channel. Some information may need to be retained where the law permits or requires it. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

8. Security

The website uses HTTPS, authenticated administrator access, role-based permissions and private document storage to protect application information. No website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Please contact the privacy team if you believe your application information has been accessed or used improperly.

9. Children and young applicants

This website is intended for people eligible to apply for employment under the laws relevant to the position. If parental or guardian involvement is required by applicable law, contact the recruitment team before submitting personal information. A parent or guardian may use the contact below to raise concerns about information submitted by a child.

10. Policy updates

Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated date. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required by applicable law. This policy describes information handling; reading it does not itself constitute consent to advertising tracking.
